We want to continue to make a difference for our customers, employees, and partners. That's why we operate with a long-term vision and respect for our environment. For us, corporate social responsibility means much more than just green energy or a sustainable mobility policy. Below, you'll find some of our initiatives that put this into practice.
Software impacts hardware energy consumption. That's why Centric is working on sustainable software: efficient software that consumes less electricity. Centric is optimizing the software development process, delivery schedule, and maintenance throughout the lifecycle. After all, more effective calculations require less cooling.
Energy can also be saved through hardware. In our certified green data centers, the servers run in an optimal configuration. We use new generations of hardware that minimize energy consumption and, at the end of their service life, are given a new lease on life through repair or recycling in our repair center.
A sustainable business operation
Besides technology, we integrate sustainability into our own operations. The Oostkamp office generates electricity with solar panels. The large windows allow us to bring in plenty of natural sunlight and heat, but on hot summer days, screens keep the heat out of our building. Naturally, we sort our business waste, and we also collaborate with the 't Rad thrift store to collect reusable materials. This gives finished products a second life and simultaneously supports the social economy.
Social return
Without a vibrant society, there can be no thriving business community. That's why Centric puts people first, even outside the business world. For example, by supporting charities like "De Warmste Week," where we, together with colleagues, give back to the community. We also offer students early in their careers the opportunity to gain work experience through internships, thus increasing their chances in the job market.
Youth sports sponsorship
At Centric, we're passionate about making a social contribution through sponsorship. We don't focus on local initiatives, but on local ones. We choose to support sports clubs where our colleagues' (grand)children are active. A healthy lifestyle and a love of exercise start at a young age. That's why we believe it's important to support young people in participating in sports.
